The NBA All-Star Weekend is considered the Super Bowl of basketball, bringing together the GOATs of the basketball scene and making them go head-to-head on the court.
The first-ever NBA All-Star Game was held on March 2, 1951, in Boston, the home crowd of the Boston Celtics. These games bring together the MVPs and top talent from Western and Eastern Conferences as they put aside their rivalries to become teammates for just one game.
The concept for an entire NBA All-Star Weekend came about in 1984, introducing more elements to the weekend, like the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, the Rising Stars Challenge, MVP Skills Challenge, and even the All-Star Celebrity Game. Basketball is the only feature of the NBA All-Star Weekend! There's live music, celebrity appearances, and tons more.
The 73rd NBA All-Star Weekend is hosted in Indianapolis and is set to make history and break records. Post Malone will perform a mash-up of his greatest hits, followed by appearances by Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck, who will introduce the All-Star pro players before the game begins.
Just like games in the regular NBA season, the NBA All-Star Game has its own records since its initial creation. Look below for some of the notorious record holders for the NBA All-Star Game.
Tickets for the NBA All-Star Weekend and NBA All-Star Game are available from the official NBA website, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and at Ticketmaster, so grab them when you can before this weekend!

Here's the full line-up for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game main event to conclude the weekend's excitement. If you want to watch the game live, all broadcasting rights are exclusively held with TNT.
The NBA Slam Dunk Contest is one of the most exciting aspects of the All-Star Weekend. It'll take place on Saturday, February 17, with four players competing: Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami Heat), Jacob Toppin (New York Knicks), and Mac McClung (G League) as the current defending champion.
This event is divided into two rounds. In the first Slam Dunk Contest round, each dunker has 90 seconds to try a dunk, with a limit of three dunk attempts. Each player gets one dunk window in the first round and another in the second.
Each dunk is scored on a scale of 40 - 50. The two dunkers with the highest combined score during the first two rounds advance to the finals, with the player with the higher final score winning the NBA Slam Dunk contest.
At the heart of the NBA All-Star Weekend lies the fan-favorite three-point contest, held on Saturday, February 17, as the night's second event. There will be eight competing players, as follows: Malik Beasley (Milwaukee Bucks), Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Lauri Markkanen (Utah Jazz), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves), Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks), and Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks). The latter player, Lillard, is the current defending champion.
The aim of the game is to sink as many long-range shots as possible within the timeframe. The participants must navigate through five stations behind the three-point line. The player with the most overall points wins the competition.

Each event during the NBA All-Star Weekend has its own unique format. Understanding how the All-Star Game, Slam Dunk Contest, Three-Point Contest, and Rising Stars Challenge all work can give you valuable insights when placing your bets.
An interesting trend within the NBA All-Star Game is that there is hardly ever a repeat MVP, meaning it changes yearly. Bob Pettit (1958, 1959), Russell Westbrook (2015, 2016), Kevin Durant (2012, 2019), and Kobe Byrant (2002, 2007, 2009, 2011) are the only players who have won the MVP award more than once. Bear this in mind when betting on this market.
Always stay informed about the latest NBA news, even for the NBA All-Star Game and other challenges. Stay up-to-date with player injuries, performance trends, and the latest NBA matches during the regular season to maximize your chances of success.
As with all betting, always set a strict budget and stick to it. Avoid betting more than you can afford to lose. Approach NBA All-Star betting with discipline and strategy, and avoid getting swept up in the hype of the event. Make well-informed decisions based on research, analysis, and the odds available.
Especially for the NBA All-Star Weekend, Rivalry will be offering various NBA prop bets and NBA betting markets for different All-Star games across the weekend. These will include our expertly crafted pre-made combos (PMCs) with great betting odds available.
