VCT China Stage 1 began on April 4 and will run until May 12, 2024, just before VCT Masters: Shanghai begins on May 23.

VCT China: Format

All international leagues in the Valorant Champions Tour follow the same format across Stage 1 and Stage 2, each with 11 teams competing. One team joins each league's franchised teams after winning Ascension. 

Stage 1 and Stage 2 are separated by international events, namely Masters. This year, the VCT Masters events have been held in Madrid and Shanghai. Sentinels won VCT Masters Madrid, while VCT Masters Shanghai begins on May 23, 2024. 

Group Stage 

The 11 teams are divided into two groups: Alpha and Omega. The former has five teams, while the latter has six. The teams play cross-group matches until they've played against every team from the opposing group. From there, there will be inter-group matches. All matches are Bo3 and the top six teams advance to the Playoffs. 

Playoffs

The playoffs will feature a hybrid-elimination format, where six teams compete. The initial Knockout Round is single-elimination, while the Upper Bracket Semifinals onwards are double-elimination. 

All matches, excluding the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, are Bo3. The Grand Final and Lower Bracket Final are both Bo5.

There is no prize money available for any of the VCT international leagues, although the best teams will compete to earn themselves circuit points. The teams with the most circuit points are automatically invited to VCT Champions 2024, which is held in Seoul.

The Valorant Champions Tour introduces eleven of the best Valorant teams in China into the professional circuit. Ten of these teams are partnered with professional esports organizations, while Dragon Ranger Gaming earned the 11th slot through Ascension 2023.
