Last updated: March 21

The 2024 competitive season of the Valorant Champions Tour is ramping up, with the first international event rapidly approaching. VCT Masters Madrid officially kicks off on March 14 for two weeks of action-packed, high-stakes Valorant gameplay.

The eight competing teams earned their Masters Madrid slot through their regional Kickoff Tournaments, like VCT Pacific and VCT Americas. As such, VCT Masters Madrid is a mixed bag of dark horses and championship contenders.

Riot Games are adding fuel to the fire—which team will emerge from the flames victorious and crowned champions of VCT Masters Madrid? Only time will tell.

Keep reading for the tournament format, ticket sales details, participating teams, and the complete schedule!

VCT Masters Madrid: Format

Valorant Masters Madrid sees eight teams competing in a Swiss-Stage format, also seen in professional League of Legends esports as of 2023.

In this Swiss competition, all opening matches will be the regional Kickoff winners against the runners-up of different regions to theirs to avoid same region match-ups.

From there, winning teams will be paired against other teams of the same record in a random draw. This is done for a maximum of three rounds until four teams have accumulated two wins before two losses. Teams that lose will find themselves in elimination matches.

The top four teams will advance to the Playoffs, a double-elimination bracket. All matches, except the Lower and Grand Finals, are best-of-three. The Grand Final and Lower Final will be played as best-of-five series.

The Masters Madrid champion gets three all-important VCT Circuit Points, improving their chances of qualifying for VCT Champions at the end of the year.

The prize pool of VCT Masters Madrid is yet TBA, but we can assume it'll be divided amongst the top four teams at least.
