In the realm of the Valorant Champions Tour, VCT Americas continues to reign supreme in terms of talent and viewership. After the success of each region's KICKOFF events and VCT Masters Madrid in March, the 2024 VCT Americas regular season will officially begin on April 6, 2024.
Currently, Sentinels are flying the flag for VCT Americas, after successfully clinching the crown in VCT Masters Madrid while also attracting huge audiences and selling in-game Valorant bundles.
However, in the regular season, anyone is fair game, as powerhouse teams like LOUD, NRG, and Evil Geniuses compete for the VCT circuit points and the prestige of being the best team in the region.
Keep reading for the complete rundown on Stage 1 of VCT Americas 2024, including the format, all eleven teams competing, the full schedule, and current standings.
VCT Americas Stage 1 kicks off with the Group Stage, which runs from April 6 until May 5. The eleven teams are divided into two groups: Alpha and Omega. The former has five teams, while the latter has six. The teams within each group are drawn based on their KICKOFF event performances in February.
The teams will play cross-group matches. For example, Sentinels from Group Alpha are playing against 100 Thieves from Group Omega, until each team has played against every team from the opposing group. From there, there will then be inter-group matches.
All matches will be Bo3, and the top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs. Winners get an automatic bye into the Upper Bracket Semifinals, while 2nd and 3rd place teams advance to the Knockout Round.
The six Playoffs teams get a small break between both stages before the mid-season Playoffs begin on May 8, culminating in the Grand Final on May 12. The Playoffs feature a hybrid-elimination format: the Knockout Round is single-elimination.
At the same time, the Upper Bracket Semifinals onwards have a double-elimination format. All Playoff matches, excluding the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, are Bo3. The Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final are both Bo5.
The top three teams from VCT Americas will qualify for VCT Masters Shanghai in May. The winning team will also get three VCT Americas points, boosting their chances of qualifying for VCT 2024 Champions towards the end of the year.
Competition in the Americas is fierce and steadily hotting up, especially as Sentinels claimed the victory at Masters Madrid. Remember that there are ten partnered VCT Americas teams and G2 Esports, who earned their slot through the VCT Ascension event last year.
Here are all eleven teams participating in VCT Americas Stage 1, including their complete player rosters by in-game ID.
Here are how the above teams are divided for the Group Stage:
