When was the first Rampage in Dota 2 history of competitive play? Who achieved it, with what hero, and who were his victims? The answer brings you all the way back to 2011, the very first International in the history of Dota 2.
We saw the first Rampage in competitive Dota 2 play from Pajkatt's Sniper at The International 1. This was back in 2011, when we had the first $1.6 million prize pool and the players only had a month or so to practice with the new engine. This meant that the game was more "Dota 1.5" than what we know today. The event was also very different from the behemoths The International has become over the years. The teams only have 46 heroes to choose from, and the playoffs were only best-of-ones for the first half. All sixteen teams were invited, and only the top 8 walked away with prize money.
Pajkatt was playing on Nirvana.Int with Fear, ComeWithMe, Lacoste, and 1437 and they faced Virus Gaming. You might recognize Sockshka from their lineup: he was the TI9-winning coach for OG, nbd. For some bonus insight, watch the full video above for some Lacoste sass and an inside look at TI1 from Pajkatt himself!
