The summer is finally heating up as Overwatch 2 Season 11 begins tomorrow, June 20, packed with exciting new content. While OW2 Season 11 won’t see a new hero joining the ranks, players will have a multitude of other goodies to contend with. This includes a new Battle Pass, a new Push map, the return of Pink Mercy, two new game modes, and balance changes.
But that’s not all! Like Fortnite, Overwatch 2 prides itself on its funky, fresh collaborations with other giants in the pop-culture world. This time around, we'll have an Overwatch 2 x Transformers collaboration during Overwatch 2 Season 11.
Intrigued? We know you are. Keep reading for our Overwatch 2 Season 11 rundown, including details on upcoming hero changes, new shop skins, and more!
Overwatch 2 Season 11, titled “Super Mega Ultrawatch”, will go live on Thursday, June 20, breaking Blizzard’s tradition of Tuesday updates.
While no official release times have been confirmed, Overwatch 2 patch releases tend to follow these global timelines below:
As the new patch notes become live across all worldwide servers, Overwatch 2 and all in-game queues will be disabled to allow the changes to take effect. Players must download any new updates for Overwatch 2 through the Battle.net launcher.
The Overwatch 2 Season 11 and its Battle Pass is titled “Super Mega Ultrawatch.” Think nostalgia, retro superheroes from childhood, styled like your favorite Overwatch 2 heroes. The Premium Battle Pass will be available for 1,000 Overwatch Coins, so grab it ASAP to start grinding through all the tiers and unlocking rewards.
Ashe is the recipient of the Season 11 Mythic skin, with “Calamity Empress” Ashe, costing 50 Mythic Prisms for the base skin and an additional 30 for the rest of the customizations. Players can earn Mythic Prisms to unlock this skin in the Mythic Shop or use this in-game currency to grab a previous Mythic skin they have missed in past seasons, except the one from Season 10, which will become available a few seasons later.
If those quirky, cartoon vibes aren’t your style, some Baywatchian-style fun will be hitting the Overwatch 2 shores. Some summer-themed lifeguard skins will be available for Lifeweaver, Lucio, Roadhog, Junkrat, and Kiriko, sold through the in-game shop for Overwatch Coins. Perfect for Support players always wading into the deep end to save their allies!
It’s been six long years, but one of the rarest skins in Overwatch, Pink Mercy, will finally return to the in-game shop between June 25 and July 8. For $15, players can buy the Legendary Pink Mercy skin, with 100% of all proceeds going towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
This skin first made its appearance in 2018, having previously raised a whopping $12.7M for the cause. Blizzard will also be offering Rose Gold Mercy bundle for $20, which includes player icons, player cards, and sprays. Grab both to support a worthy cause and expand your collection.
The new Push map, Runasapi, launches in Season 11, featuring scenic views as players escort the friendly, butt-scratching TS-1 robot to their enemies’ base. Set in Illari’s hometown in the Peruvian Andes, Runasapi will hopefully add some bonus lore to the mysterious Support hero.
Here’s how Blizzard has described this new addition to the map pool, available in Quick Play and Competitive from June 20.
“Amble through marketplaces full of fresh produce and pay a visit to the Inti Warrior Historical Museum and Monument. This exciting Push map is vibrant and challenging as you escort TS-1 through tight streets. Watch out as some fights may take place precariously close to the steep cliffs overlooking the sunny farmlands below.”
Additionally, Colosseo is getting a rework with changes to structures near spawns and the removal of barriers in the central hallway, encouraging more skirmishes and balls-to-the-wall gameplay.
Blizzard Entertainment keeps their cards close to their chest regarding upcoming patch notes, tending to only reveal them on the day of said patch.
In their official Season 11 reveal trailer, they have confirmed that heroes across all three roles (DPS, Tank, Support) will be getting buffs and nerfs. An insider scoop reveals that Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade will lose its tracking effect, reverting to a slow-effect Flashbang, much to the community's delight.
We will update this section when the complete patch notes are available, so stay tuned!
Overwatch 2 Season 11 has teased an Overwatch 2 x Transformers collaboration event on July 9. This could follow in the footsteps of previous pop-culture collaborations with LE SERRAFIM and One Punch Man, with special-themed skins and game modes to dove into to unlock free rewards. Rest assured, we will publish a dedicated guide on this collaboration closer to the time.
As the summer begins to heat up, we will also see the return of the iconic Summer Games event. This will also start on July 9, according to the official Season 11 content roadmap.
We’ll likely dive into Winston’s Beach Volleyball and Lucioball once again, with different achievements and challenges to complete for valuable Battle Pass XP and other exclusive rewards.
That’s all the info we have on Overwatch 2 Season 11, starting June 20. It’s packed with exciting new content, and we can’t wait to pick up the Pink Mercy skin to support a great cause!
