Riot Games are cooking up a storm with a swarm of new updates and balance changes. League of Legends patch 14.6 has only just launched this week but eyes are already turning towards the next League patch, 14.7, scheduled to release on the first week of April.
This next patch is set to be huge in scope regarding the upcoming changes to Summoner's Rift. The headliner for League patch 14.7 is Skarner's rework, updating his ancient visuals and adding some spice to his abilities.
There will also be significant healing adjustments to underrated enchanter supports Sona and Nami in the hopes of boosting their pick rates and make them more viable in the current meta.
Keep reading for the full patch notes for League 14.7, including all the balance changes, new skins, and item changes. Keep in mind that the following patch notes are subject to change between now and their release on April 3, 2024.
As per Riot Games' official patch schedule for 2024, League of Legends patch 14.7 will release on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Like previous patches, LoL patch 14.7 will be rolled out across the day according to the different time zones and worldwide servers. The new update will begin with the Oceanic server at around 10 AM AEST.
Here are all the critical LoL patch rollout times for the remaining servers.
Riot Games will temporarily deactivate all matchmaking queues while the update is implemented onto live servers. If you want to avoid losing your hard-earned LP, don't join any competitive queues while this update is ongoing.
As always, Riot Games maintain a fine balancing act with nerfing overpowered champions while bringing up underrated champions back into the mix with some much-needed adjustments and buffs.
After nearly 13 years, Skarner is getting a much-needed rework to propel him back towards being a meta pick. The "Crystal Vanguard" is currently languishing with a 0.9% pickrate and a 48% win-rate, making him a poor Jungle choice currently.
This new rework will see Skarner gain a new Passive and rework several of his abilities. Hopefully these changes will make him a more popular and versatile pick in Ranked and other game modes.
Hop abroad the prank train with the five brand-new April Fools skins for 2024. The enemy laners in your next game won't know what hit them! Each skin also has colorful chromas available, so you can customize it to suit you!
Here are the prices and rarities for the new skins coming in League of Legends patch 14.7.
It's still early days with League of Legends patch 14.7, so not all of the proposed champion changes are yet available. We'll update this article as soon as any further information is datamined, so stay tuned!
Skarner is one of League of Legends' longest-standing champions and in need of some TLC. He ranked lowest in terms of popularity and visual appeal, so Riot Games are tweaking his abilities and giving him an ASU (Art & Sustainability Update). Let's take a look and see what's changed.
Skarner's basic attacks, Q and E apply Quaking to enemy champions. Enemies with 3 stacks of Quaking will take a percentage of the target's maximum health damage over time.
Skarner rips a rock from the ground to empower his next three attacks with bonus damage, cast range, and attack speed.
The third attack slams the rock into his target, slowing them and dealing significant bonus damage. Skarner can recast Upheaval to throw the rock as a projectile that explode upon first enemy hit, dealing the same attack damage and slow movement speed effect, ending the ability.
Skarner gains a shield and slams into the ground, releasing a shockwave that damage and slows nearby enemies.
Skarner charges forward, ignoring terrain, and grabs the first enemy champion or large monster he collides with. He can carry them a short distance, damaging or stunning them if they collide with terrain.
Skarner impales up to three champions, all while damaging and suppressing them as he gains bonus movement speed for a short time before carrying that enemy champion until the effect ends.
While players cannot use A, E, or Flash during Impale, Skarner can now pull enemy champions over walls and terrain. The duration of the Ultimate will also not change if he's pulling one or three enemies.
We'll update this section when we know the specifics of Skarner's abilities, like mana cost. We'll also include Skarner's new base stats like health growth, attack speed growth, base health, health ratio, and more as soon as we know.
Riot Games will also make an unpopular change in League of Legends patch 14.7. They reverted their old LP system in LoL patch 14.4 to ensure consistency when climbing ranks and reduce the chances of players getting negative LP gains.
Riot Games believes that demotions have become "too forgiving." As such, they have lowered the demotion LP from 75 to 50 when you go down to a lower division or rank. This change means players must win three games instead of two to get their rank back.
That's all the information we've currently got on the League of Legends patch notes for 14.7, which will launch on April 3, 2024. As these are just the early patch notes, we'll aim to update this article with any new information as soon as it becomes available to us from the PBE.
