The Summer Split of the League of Legends EMEA Championship, or LEC, is just around the corner, beginning on June 17. Reigning 2023 LEC Spring champions, MAD Lions will be looking to secure back-to-back victories, while the other nine competing teams will be looking to grab a slot at the LEC Season Finals in August and a slice of the $800,000 prize pool.

LEC Summer 2023: Format
There are three stages for LEC Summer 2023: the Regular Season, Groups, and Playoffs.
The LEC Summer Split will run from June 17 until July 30, with a one-week break at the beginning of July.
Stage 1: Regular Season
Ten teams participate in a single-round-robin
All matches are best-of-one
The top eight teams advance to Summer Groups
Stage 2: Summer Group Stage
The eight teams will be split into two groups of four in a double elimination format
Matches will be best-of-three
Top two from each group advance to the Playoffs
Stage 3: Playoffs
First-placed teams from each Group play in the winner's bracket
Second-placed teams play in the loser's bracket
Matches are best-of-five
Winner qualifies for the LEC Season Finals and gets €40,000 of the €80,000 prize pool
The LEC Finals will commence on August 19. It will feature six teams, including the champions from LEC Winter, Spring, and Summer, alongside the three teams with the most championship points.
