Escape From Tarkov, developed by Battlestate Games, is an intense and tactical extraction FPS offering in-game progression from consistently playing, completing quests, and looting/selling gear.
However, like with many games, many persistent players have progressed far into the game, leaving a significant power disparity between them and more casual players. This is when developer Battlestate Games employ pre-wipe events and a new wipe to keep things interesting.
The question arises, "What is a Tarkov wipe" and "When is the next one?" This article will estimate when the next Escape from Tarkov wipe will be, and how often wipes occur!
Battlestate Games usually employ a new Escape from Tarkov wipe to avoid any glitches or coding mishaps that may occur during these gameplay overhauls and balance changes.
Escape From Tarkov wipes are essentially a complete server wipe and global reset, where players are all given a fresh start and begin back at level 1, starting anew. Their quest progress is completely reset, and all their gear is removed. All their Character Skill levels, overall levels, and reputation with traders are also reset.
This may sound like a frustrating concept, as players spend so much time grinding for their gear, but Escape from Tarkov wipes are a great way to keep the game fresh and exciting as all players are reset to a level playing field, starting from square 1 once again.
While Battlestate Games are quite mysterious on social media, judging by the dates of previous wipes and patterns, we can take an educated guess and assume the next wipe will take place on a Thursday between 13th-27th July.
The last Escape from Tarkov wipe date was around the end of December 2022, with the release of Patch 0.13.0.0.
Here is a list of all the previous Escape From Tarkov wipe dates since the game's release in 2017.
As you will see, aside from some anomalies in the early-games state, wipes will typically happen every 6 months, with the last EFT wipe being 28th December, and usually occur on date patch version days.
As mentioned, Tarkov wipes are usually accompanied by significant game updates and patches, generally adding new items, maps, and traders to the game while fixing bugs. Every player progress will be restored to zero, including all of their collected equipment, weapons, and quest progress.
After a wipe, players should be given their account starting items to get started with. An Escape from Tarkov wipe is a great starting point for newcomers and beginners to hop into the game without the worry and threat of experienced players hoarding all the best weapons and equipment.
The new Escape from Tarkov patch will introduce new weapons, with the SCAR being confirmed, including both 5.56 and 7.62 calibers. The Factory map will also see an expansion and add a new Scav boss, also known as Tagilla or Chief of the Factory, armed with a sledgehammer.
That's everything we currently know about the next Escape from Tarkov wipe. We will keep you updated with all the latest news and major updates on Escape from Tarkov wipes, so stay tuned!
