The North American organization has announced that they are departing competitive Dota and that members their roster are available to be signed. Returning after a three-year hiatus, Cloud9's latest iteration only lasted four months before they pulled the plug on the project.
A set of disappointing results coupled with the current uncertain climate has meant that Jack Etienne's esports organization ran out of patience with their latest attempt at building a successful Dota roster. Returning after a long absence that went back all the way to 2017, the first iteration of the new-look Cloud9 was already revamped in March after they picked up two players from the fighting pandaS roster and one from NiP. With an early elimination in the ESL One Los Angeles qualifiers followed by an 0-5 record and zero map wins at Dota Summit 12 and an early elimination at the BTS Pro Series Americas as well, it was deemed to be the end of the road for Cloud9's latest attempt in Dota 2.
“It was great working with these players and I want to thank them for being professional throughout and buying into our vision and company values. We’re confident that success will follow them as their careers progress” - said Ysabel 'Noukky' Müller, Cloud9's team manager.
The ex-Cloud9 roster consisted of Ace, EternaLEnvY, MISERY, Sneyking and pielidie, with skem and vtFαded (loaned to EHOME) on the bench.
